See this lovely picture of Mary Tyler Moore concurring the big city and triumphantly tossing her hat into the air in celebration of her success? I think this is the mental picture I had in my head when I first got my job working for a big law firm in a really tall building downtown. Young, single girl out taking on the world one day at a time.
Things have deteriorated since then.
Today I got a reminder that I have a doctor's appointment coming up. My first thought? "YES! Half day off of work!" What does that say about the level of enthusiasm I have for my job? How crap does a place have to be for a person to say, "I would rather be siting in the Cancer Center, waiting to have my blood drawn", and actually mean it?
