Happy Winter Solstice Everyone...

When I think of the winter solstice today I go back to a winter solstice celebration of a few years ago. It was a quiet occasion. A small group of people gathered that cold night to walk a labyrinth that is laid out side in gravel and stone. There was something incredibly peaceful about the air that night. We walked in silence and dark. Remembering that light was soon returning. Remembering that Christmas was just a few days away.

There is something tangible about that connection with the universe and its mysteries that makes the connection with the Divine more real. In the middle of our daily lives where there is no triumph, nature proves there is still light, even after the longest night.
