Sometimes life throws dung balls at you, but you just have to roll with it.
I was laid off yesterday. I can't say I'm terribly surprised.
Its an unknown path full of uncertainly.
Still, I can't help but be glad to see the back of the place.
I'm looking forward to having time. Time for prayer and reflection. Time to spend with Alex. Just time.
Maybe I'm naive, but I honestly think I will come out on top. I learned a lot from my time on the job, but it was never a place I wanted to spend my whole life.

Seriously? Spam on this post? What the heck!
I'm so sorry you were laid off - it's a bit of a kick in the gut even if you're ultimately glad it happened. I hope you got a severence package. And, yes, use this time to get ready for the next fabulous step!
I read your phrase 'spend my whole life' as 'spend my whole youthfulness' before I read to the end. I celebrate with you the expanse you are journeying through. While frightening, you have the opportunity of choice. Go for it. I walk with you...along side.
Katy, I believe that everything is for the best. I think you are going to come out landing on your feet. Please keep us posted.
((((((hugs))))))

Katy, Like Jo, I also believe "the best is yet to come." Your photos are awesome and fit your text beautifully. Be kind to yourself - you and Alex deserve the best!
Wow, you sound very peaceful about it. I'm sure you aren't that all the time, but if you can keep steady, then good will come out of this.
God has a way of clearing out the things that need to be cleared out for the next step. Praying that he continues to make the path straight for you.
Margaret
