This just in...

Have you heard the news? Prince William, my one true puppy love crush, is engaged to Kate Middleton. I suppose this means that the long distance relationship the Prince and I have had since we were both 12 has officially come to an end. I will always treasure the letter I received from Diana's Lady in Waiting. I had written to him as part of a sixth grade English assignment to send a letter to a celebrity. For the record, out of the 27 letters written to various actors, singers and athletes, I was the only student to receive a reply.

While I am disappointed that our relationship did not progress any further, I am still happy for William. I think it shows some brightness of mind that he chose not to marry before now. The young man has been through enough heart break in his life I wish him and his bride all the happiness in the world.

But Wills darling - if things don't work out , know that I am still single...

He'd be crazy to pass you by if Kate doesn't work out :)

I can see why you had a crush on him. He is very handsome. What do you think about him giving her Diana's ring? Not sure about that one. That ring was so famous....if I were her I am not sure I would want it....but that is just me.

I take his explination at face value. This was William's way of making sure his mother isn't pushed aside.

I do wish them well. I think Kate is lucky in that - unlike Diana - she is going into this with eyes wide open.

You're being very noble. And you know what they say: if you love something set it free. If it comes back to you then it's yours dammit, then make sure you get a ring on your finger. If it doesn't come back to you, the guy is a big ol' loser, and who needs to be married to the king of England anyway.

I'm glad the Palace replied to your letter. Good for them!
