and stood before the moon
the clock reminds my spirit of my mind
and i begin to mind the business of the day.
i must wake the princess from her sleep
and turn on the light that burns her eyes.
she closed her eyes to recount the journey of the night
but i was too impatient to wait.
this day promises to be ... this day.
this is the day she wanted to play outside
attempting to scoop up every worm that passed.
me, attempting to steer her towards our destination.
as if we shared a common destiny.
a common sense of direction.
a common sense of curiosity.
